Clockworks offers compact modules based on Analog Devices AD2427, AD2428, and AD2437 A2B transceiver devices. These plug in modules:

  • Save development time.
  • Provides a simple way to integrate A2B in to prototypes and small volume products.
  • Avoid the headaches of designing the A2B sub system.
  • Particularly helpful for designing test hardware quickly.

Clockworks currently offers three different versions of the modules. Click the links below to get the complete details on each of the module’s features.

Clockworks AB0001 module uses the same Molex DuraClik connectors for A2B interconnect found on most A2B evaluation hardware available from Analog Devices and other vendors.

This board receives power from the carrier it is plugged in to and provides downstream power for phantom (bus) powered A2B nodes.

It can operate as an A2B root (master) or A2B client (slave) node. Systems can be constructed with up with up to 10 client nodes and 32 channels of uncompressed 24 bit audio.

Clockworks AB0003 module is functionally the same as the AB0001 module but instead of the two DuraClik connectors A2B is routed to two 4 pin connectors. This allows use of connectors for A2B cabling that uses a more user friendly connector choice.

This board comes in two versions, one for local powered nodes, and the other for phantom power capable nodes.

While intended for customers to create their own system designs, Clockworks currently offers 5 different mating modules to provide extensive off the shelf options.

Clockworks AB0331 module is based on the AD2437 to allow increased node to node distance (30m), increased total length (300m), and increased node count (16) compared to AD242x based systems.

The AD2437 also supports the newer CFG4 A2B phantom power system, which can provide up to 24V at up to 2 amps for the A2B system. It can be plugged in to sockets designed for the AB0001 module while offering additional capability (such as SPI) via new/added connector pins.

Coming soon: The AB0371 module is functionally the same as the AB0331 but offers headers for the A2B connection so that custom cable/connectors can be supported, including the ADI defined XLR and RJ45 CFG4 power arrangements.

Clockworks offers a range of add-on modules that can be used with AB0003 A2B OEM module and in some cases with the AB0001. For a complete list of add-ons please see the A2B product page.
